Wm dress rehearsal: fiasco for german biathletes

Wm dress rehearsal: fiasco for german biathletes

Gossner, of all people, who had previously won in oberhof and ruhpolding, experienced a debacle over the 7.5 kilometers with seven sliding faults and 62nd place, just like sachenbacher-stehle. She finished 78th in her comeback in the biathlon world cup with five penalty laps. Both missed the qualification for the pursuit on saturday. Especially for gossner this is a bitter blow in the fight for the overall world cup victory.

The only one who had something to laugh about was nadine horchler. The 26-year-old shot clear in the victory of slovakian olympic champion anastasiya kuzmina and achieved her best world cup result to date with fifth place. "I was not a zero today. I shot the zero," she said. "That was a great race and gives me further self-confidence."This could not, however, overcome the generally poor performance of the germans. "Today we are going home with very long fences. Compliments to nadine, but it’s a bit easier on our results," said women’s coach gerald honig, who, like his athletes, had the disappointment written all over his face. Andrea henkel (2 faults) was 25., franziska hildebrand (3) finished 39th. Into the finish.

Record attendance at crana mare

Record attendance at crana mare

It was the eighth time that the DLRG district association had organized its well-known 24-hour swimming event in cooperation with the city of kronach and the municipal utilities. A total of 341 water rats – 59 more than two years ago – covered a distance of exactly 1192,700 meters, another great achievement! However, the top result of the last event was not quite reached, as some strong performers were not at the start.

Shared seats

From saturday, 1 p.M., to sunday, 1 p.M., the participating water rats aged between five and 75 could do their laps to their heart’s content or according to their condition. Swimming breaks were possible at any time. Also the swimming style could be chosen freely. The hardest swimmers from the respective competition classes were honored with winner trophies. Since there were many close decisions and many a podium position had to be shared, it was sometimes very tight on the "podium".
With 32,050 m, xenia makeev (age group 2003) not only achieved first place in her age group of nine to 15 years, but also the best overall performance of all participants. Second place in this age group went to lara-marie hofmann (15 km), third place to sarah hofmann (12 km). With marius jagusch (age group 2002) and konstantin mesch (age group 2004) two young swimmers reached the top of the podium with a swimming performance of 22.5 km. Third place was awarded three times this year, as kilian wegner, bastian martin and felix kopp each covered 20.1 km.
The most vigorous swimmer of the competition was gerhard wich (born in 1964), who in his age group of 15 years struggled through the water for exactly 30 150 m, followed by bjorn dorsch with 17.9 km and ulrich beez with 17.1 km.
With a strong 30 km, svenja fischer (age group 1999) equaled her swimming performance from 2015 and was again able to secure first place among swimmers over 15 years of age. Karin dressel with 19 km and jessica dietz with 17.9 km followed with a clear distance on the second and third rank.
But not only the performances of the day’s best, but also of all other participants were more than respectable. 341 participants – 144 women and 197 men – took part in the one-day endurance swim. In the youngest age group (up to and including 8 years), florian fischer (age group 2010) and anika walter (age group 2009) won the boys’ race and the girls’ race, respectively. Florian managed 4750 m, anika 8400 m.
The oldest participants also presented themselves in top shape – horst werner in the men’s category with 75 years (2.1 km) and barbara neubauer in the women’s category with 62 years (1600 m). Youngest participants were six-year-old max neidhardt (50 m) and one-year-younger freya schuberth (1 km). The participating groups also ran smoothly. DLRG kronach was once again unbeatable in the club competition. This year it covered an incredible 498.55 km, and the school with the highest number of participants was frankenwaldgymnasium with 30 swimmers.

175 years ago, the first train came to bamberg

In 1844 bamberg got the connection to a new means of transportation – the railroad. It was an eventful history when the operation of the koniglich bayerische staatseisenbahn began. The railroad contributed to the economic development of the city and provided wages and bread for generations of railroad workers.

The successes of the private "ludwigs railroad from nurnberg to furth encouraged operators to expand. Various proposals were considered. The 1836 planned project of the "nurnberg-northern border railroad company envisaged a route from nurnberg via bamberg to hof. Due to miscalculations and excessive costs, the project was doomed to fail again as early as 1840.

Rich russians should also provide aid to cyprus

Rich russians should also provide aid to cyprus

Russia, which had already granted cyprus a 2.5 billion euro loan, continued to keep a low profile on friday. The background to the demands are the large sums of billions that russian oligarchs in particular have parked in the accounts of the bloated banking sector in the eurozone country of cyprus.

Michael meister (CDU), vice chairman of the CDU/CSU parliamentary group, warned that a contribution from the banks’ shareholders and lenders should also be discussed: "I think it is legitimate to ask how the owners and lenders of a financial institution should participate in a bailout if the institution gets into difficulties."It is also a question of the extent to which cyprus itself will participate in the financing. He is not talking about savings deposits and not about loans from other banks, stressed meister.

Lonnerstadt must plant 20 trees

Lonnerstadt must plant 20 trees

"Am sonnenhugel, the sports grounds of the TSV lonnerstadt, are to be renovated by the 30. November, 20 trees will be planted within two weeks, mayor stefan himpel () announced at the meeting. The district office refers to the "accompanying landscape conservation plan", which was created years ago with the designation of the sports land.
However, the basic plan has not yet been implemented. Although the land use and development plan for the area, in the words of mayor stefan himpel, "still date from the last millennium". When the TSV was moved out of the village and the new land was created at the sonnenhugel, this necessitated the adjustment of the land use plan with the corresponding accompanying plan. Mayor himpel does not know why the accompanying landscape conservation plan was not implemented. However, he wants to implement the request of the authority as possible on time. "But a few more days are not enough", he had been assured in office.
Himpel sought advice and help from the district technical advisory service. On monday, he met with andreas sehm and hans leuchs from the district office as well as with landscape planner markus fleckenstein on site. At this date, the planting is "bindingly fixed" the mayor said.

English oak and norway maple

The district technical advisory service in the district office was helpful in the implementation, the mayor said. The authority will obtain offers for the trees. English oak, basswood and norway maple are to be planted. All of them in the north and northeast of the sports area. The trees should already have a circumference of 18 to 20 centimeters – measured at a height of one meter – aueisen.
For the municipality of lonnerstadt, the planting means "an extraordinary expenditure". Including the digging and planting work, the mayor estimates the tree planting at around 8000 euros. Without a council committee alone, himpel can only decide on 2500 euros. Since the next meeting in the lonnerstadt town hall is not until 18. December, the council authorized the mayor to award the most economical bid.

It will be autumnal

It will be autumnal

Stormy night ahead for large parts of germany. The reason is "mortimer," a small depression "that is quite nimble and should not be underestimated," the german weather service (DWD) announced in offenbach on sunday.

"It moves within a few hours from the british islands over the north sea towards denmark and further to the baltic sea, so that germany comes exactly into its storm field, which is located on the south and southwest flank of the depression."

Art in times of isolation

Art in times of isolation

Benjamin bochmann doesn’t know it any differently: sometimes he appears as the poetic cyrano de bergerac in bamberger’s "theater im gartnerviertel" on, times as an animal member of the bremer stadtmusikanten in the habfurt theater workshop. His schedule was jam-packed with rehearsals and performances. Until corona paralyzed the country: "since we work as freelance actors, our loss of earnings is almost 100 percent right now, and unfortunately no one can say when this situation will ease again.", tells bochmann. His wife, heidi lehnert, is also known to many people in bamberg as an actress and director.

No audience, no art

But the order of the day is "social distancing". The retreat into one’s own four walls should put an end to the pandemic. What protects humanity drives artists into bankruptcy. Without guests, theaters close and concerts are canceled.

The rodachtal school was her home

The rodachtal school was her home

"40 years ago, I had to introduce myself to the burgermeisters, now the burgermeister even comes to see me," says, irmgard bauerfeind says with a laugh during her farewell speech. She likes to think back to the long years at the elementary school and the former main school rodachtal. First in zeyern and then in the new school building in marktrodach.

"I received the letter from the government on 6. August 1973 again found, although already somewhat yellowed, but clearly to read is that I must in the rodachtal and I have not regretted that until today", says the retiring teacher thoughtfully. And her private happiness also affected her fellow teachers, so that after her marriage to reinhard bauerfeind she never considered a transfer. "For me, for all of us, a dream came true when we moved into the new school building. Working with the three cs – church, community, kindergarten – has always been very enjoyable for me. But what I will miss most now is 'my children', their ignorance, open-mindedness and their joy", irmgard bauerfeind gets a little sentimental. But the look goes back in gratitude, even if the farewell hurts her a bit.
