Knife attack in the middle of ravensburg – several seriously injured

Knife attack in the middle of ravensburg - several seriously injured

It is a sunny autumn day when screams suddenly ring through the center of ravensburg. People are running around in a state of total panic, looking for help – that’s how mayor daniel rapp (CDU) tells it later in the day. The situation has calmed down a bit again. In the afternoon, things looked quite different: a man flinches with a knife on marienplatz square. He seriously injures three people, one of them life-threatening.

His motive? This is still completely unclear in the evening, as the investigators emphasize. A police spokesman says that a terrorist background has been ruled out for the time being. Beyond that he does not say much. The fact that the suspected perpetrator can be arrested quickly is probably also thanks to the city’s mayor: according to his own statements, it was he who confronted the man with the knife.

Citizens’ initiative has city council resolution reviewed

Arkadius guzy the resistance to the planned burgerhaus has not yet ended. Elfriede dickert and ronald holl have sent a letter to the district office of bad kissingen this week. In it, they ask for a legal review of the city council’s resolution of 18 december 2009. February.

At that meeting, the city council had decided to make changes to the burgerhaus. These slightly modify the architecture of the building and are expected to make the construction of an estimated 200 000 euros more favorable. With this rezoning, the city wants to meet the demands from the referendum. However, the citizens’ initiative apparently does not go far enough for it to consider the changes as a fulfillment of the citizens’ referendum. In the justification of the letter, the representatives of the citizens’ initiative are therefore of the opinion that the current change of plans should have happened only one year after the citizens’ decision. They refer to a passage in the bavarian municipal code on the binding effect of a referendum and want the city council’s decision to be tested against it by the legal supervisory authority.

Training for the worst

Training for the worst

It was assumed that two workers had fainted in the sewer pipe – presumably due to gases – and now had to be rescued from the pipe and then from the construction pit, which was about eight meters deep.
The firefighters’ own safety was the top priority, and so the air at the bottom of the pit was first analyzed using special equipment. City fire chief michael wolf, who had observed and planned the exercise, had even had some nitrogen introduced to see if the measuring devices would respond.
After this was the case, a team with pre-air breathers descended into the construction site, but without using the available equipment for this purpose. Because it was the task of another group to bring in there a ladder and secure it so that everything could be walked on safely.
Because of the muddy ground, they had refrained from letting anyone play the injured person and instead had placed two heavy, corporeal dolls in the channel, which first had to be retrieved from the pipe.
In the meantime, one of the two swivel ladders from kissingen had been positioned so that a pulley could be attached to the basket for the drag basket stretcher. Then everything went relatively quickly. One after the other, the two "accident victims" were brought out into the daylight by drag basket stretcher and turntable ladder.
On thursday, another such exercise will take place at the same location: for the second platoon of the volunteer fire department of bad kissingen. Because in the meantime, rescue and technical operations are numerically ahead of the actual firefighting in all fire departments.

The wild season comes to an early end

The wild season comes to an early end

After only one year, raimo wildes’ second term as coach of the handball team TV marktsteft ends in mid april. After a decade and a half of sporting success after his first arrival at the grunweiben, this season will be a short, albeit successful, guest appearance.

When asked, vice chairman sebastian schneider said there were "no special reasons" for the switch. However, those responsible for the club had learned from the past to act in good time. After last season, the club had not found a successor for vilo vitkovic even in april, before they presented him in wilde then in the summer. "We had to make a decision due to time constraints," explains schneider. "We don’t want to look as stupid as last year again."That’s why the management team agreed to act early on. First talks on this matter were already held before the turn of the year.

Trade appeals for understanding of rental conditions

trade appeals for understanding of rental conditions

In view of the economic consequences of the corona pandemic, the german retail association (HDE) has appealed for understanding for companies that suspend the rent for their stores.

"This crisis must be about fair burden-sharing between tenants and landlords," said HDE chief executive stefan genth. "Stable rental relationships are also in the interest of the landlords. Otherwise, after the corona crisis, many places will be threatened by vacancies and a decline in city centers. This will also drag the real estate sector down with it." Genth criticized that "there are still too many property owners (…) no consequences from the special crisis situation were drawn".

Refugees are unevenly distributed across bavaria

Refugees are unevenly distributed across bavaria

Where do most refugees live in bavaria?? Are there regions where there are above-average numbers of asylum seekers?? Actually, this should not be the case, because they should be evenly distributed across the free state in relation to the number of inhabitants. But apparently the reality lags behind the decree of the state government.

According to the latest figures, there are currently 156.000 refugees accommodated. Research by bayerischer rundfunk has now revealed that many cities with no district take in more refugees than districts in their immediate vicinity. A phenomenon that can be observed above all in franconia.
