Enjoyment festival around the local beer
A journey of discovery through the brewing culture of the habberge district is offered by the enjoyment festival all about local beer, which will take place on saturday, 27. April, from 14 to 22 o’clock on the historical market place of the city konigsberg takes place. In case of bad weather, the event moves to the stadthalle am bleichdamm.
Attractive supporting program
A varied program awaits the visitors. The start is at 14.30 o’clock, when the new beer princess kerstin friedrich together with district administrator wilhelm schneider and mayor claus bittenbrunn will officially open the festival.
The whole area of the historical market place is transformed into a pleasure mile, where the guests are spoiled. The six local breweries raab (hofheim), goller (zeil), hartleb (maroldsweisach), bayer (theinheim) and schlossbrauerei zeitlos (oberschwappach) serve their various beer specialties fresh from the barrel. The municipal brewers from dorflis and unfinden are also part of the party.
There will also be information on hops, malt and beer. At various stations, visitors get an insight into how beer is made and what ingredients and raw materials are needed for it.
Of course, a good beer also goes with a decent meal. And that’s why the festival in konigsberg also offers culinary specialties for every taste. Jonathan eller from auenland beef and the konigsberg butchery stadtler will serve dishes to match the beer – from burgers and pulled beef sandwiches to sausages, steaks and french sausage salad. Coffee and cake are provided by the cafe am marktplatz and silke beck from cafe zwergriese offers homemade kaseplootz, streuselkuchen and crispy bars.
But that is by no means everything: the "zeller stammtischbrau shows how to brew beer in a mobile brewery and the albertos will provide unplugged with unabashedly hearty french music for a lively atmosphere. At the stands of the local breweries, visitors can talk shop about hops and malt as well as about the local brewing culture and learn a lot of interesting facts about the brewing process.
The organizer of the festival is "naturally from here", a cooperation of innkeepers and direct marketers, which breweries have also joined as members.
Those who come to konigsberg by car do not have to worry about parking spaces. There is plenty of parking on the bleichdamm, and the marketplace is only a few minutes away.
The event will take place in all weather conditions. If it rains, you can have a beer or two in the city hall. The burgers can look forward to an enjoyable beer festival: a toast to the diverse brewery culture in the district of habberge!
